BENNINGTON — The following cases were recently heard before Judge David A. Howard in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division:

Thursday

- Patrick J. Sears, 46, of Shaftsbury, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possessing stolen property (amended from felony burglary) and misdemeanor possessing stolen property. Sears received two consecutive six-to-12 month suspended sentences with probation. The charges stem from an offense made on or about Oct. 1, 2014 that was investigated by Vermont State Police.

- Raymond W. Niles, 47, of Woodstock, pleaded guilty to felony driving under the influence for a fourth or subsequent offense and misdemeanor vehicle operation with a license suspended for DUI. Niles received a two-to-five year sentence for the felony and a concurrent three-month sentence for the misdemeanor with credit for time served. The charges stem from a Sept. 17, 2016 offense that was investigated by Vermont State Police.
