Five MAU runners make MVL All-Stars

BENNINGTON — Tuesday afternoon the Marble Valley League announced its cross country All-Star team with five local athletes making the team.

Mount Anthony Union's cross country team was well represented in the conference honors.

On the boy's side, Evan Page and Shawn Tobin made the team, while on the girl's side, Sarah Umphlett, Paige Greenawalt and Maggie Payne were honored by the MVL.

Both Page and Umphlett competed in the New England Championships this past weekend in Maine, with both Patriots' athletes finishing in the top 200 of finishers in their respective races.

The full list of athletes honored is as follows: Colin Costa-Walsh - Brattleboro, Matthew Bassette - Woodstock, Malcolm Silver-Van Meter - Thetford, Shawn Tobin - MAU, Clifford Ransom - Thetford, Evan Page - MAU, Ian Wallace - Bellows Falls, Tim Salter-Roy - Bellows Falls, Trevor Kipp - Brattleboro, Nicolas Potter - Bellows Falls, Sarah Gallagher - Brattleboro, Meaggie Balch - Thetford, Sarah Umphlett - MAU, Eloise Van Meter - Thetford, Lia Clark - Bellows Falls, Paige Greenawalt - MAU, Maggie Payne - MAU, Grace Vollers - Woodstock, Rosanna Hyde - Rutland and Annie Takacs - Brattleboro
