Lee sweeps Patriots on court
The Patriots fell in the sets, 25-7, 25-9 and 25-12.
Jonna Loomis had two blocks, Carly Bylina had four digs, Amber Metcalfe had three kills and Mackenzie Mayhew had four assists for the Patriots.
Bulldogs blank Colonels
MANCHESTER — The Burr and Burton boys soccer team defeated Brattleboro 3-0 Thursday at Taylor Field in Manchester in a key league matchup.
BBA struck in the first five minutes on a goal from Oscar Loomis after a cross bounced around in the box. The Colonel defense played solid until the second half when Ben Stewart scored on a perfect through ball from Bennie Osnow. Stewart struck again in the final three minutes from an Oscar Loomis pass. BBA improves to 6-3-2 and will host Essex on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Rutland outlasts MAU in OT
BENNINGTON — The Mount Anthony boys soccer team trailed by a pair of goals against Rutland on Wednesday night, roared back to tie it twice, but unfortunately, the comeback came up short in a 4-3 overtime defeat.
Down 2-0 in the second half, Jeff Potter and Adam Sampsell scored, Sampsell's with 11 minutes remaining in regulation, to tie the match at 2-2. Rutland re-took the lead, 3-2, with six minutes left before Franklin Cody knotted it back at 3-3 with 1:02 left.
In overtime, a Rutland player was fouled in the box and Jacob Henderson buried it for the walk-off.
Dylan Woodside had six saves for MAU, who are 6-5-1 and at Brattleboro next Wednesday.
Panthers roll on
CHESTERTOWN, N.Y. — A pair of first half goals were all the Hoosick Falls field hockey team needed in a 3-0 win over North Warren on the road.
Lillian Hickey scored with 16:45 left in the first half before Anna Myers added an unassisted tally with three minutes to go.
Hickey added another score, off an assist from Eliza Whitman, with six minutes left in the contest.
Zoe Gress had five saves for Hoosick Falls, who are 11-0 in league play and 12-1 overall.
BENNINGTON — The Mount Anthony Youth Athletic Association will host a pair of registration nights for its basketball program.
The two in-person registrations will take place on Nov. 7 and Nov. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Bennington Elementary School.
The board will be at the registrations for parents to ask questions.
Registration is already online at www.mayaabasketball.com and will be until Nov. 3. The cost is $40 per child or $70 per family.
MAYAA is for kids from grades 1 to 6.

Track and Treat Halloween Fun Run in North Bennington
NORTH BENNINGTON — The Village School of North Bennington is hosting a 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct 28. There will also be an Obstacle/Adventure Course available for the younger children. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the Family Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 9:30 A.M.. 5K Pre-registration is $20, day of race is $25; Family Fun Run $10.
Participants are encouraged to dress in costume and prizes will be given! Bring the entire family to the Village School of North Bennington for a fun morning.
