Letter: It's still too early to take down feeders

Posted
To the Editor:

This letter is in response to the headline that was in the paper a few days ago that said, "Take down your bird feeders."

I think that none of us know just when bears wake up, but the first part of March, plus the news of impending snow is much too early.

What do you think the birds are going to eat? Snow? No. They are going to starve to death. There is nothing on the ground or in the trees for them to eat.

Besides that, people who live where there is no thought of bears do not need to take their feeders down.

People, please listen to the forecast and act accordingly.

Shaftsbury
