Letter to the Editor: Thanks from Cheney Library staff
We (Mary, Silvia, and Carol) want to thank you the voters for saying YES to the Cheney Library proposal on Nov. 7. We as well as the trustees are happy to secure Cheney Library's future for a long time to come. It was very hard to balance a budget that had more going out than it did coming in; now it will be balanced.
Cheney Library is here to serve the people of Hoosick Falls as well as the surrounding area. We have many patrons who use the library everyday, twice a week, once a week, or as needed. The public computers and Wifi are for everyone as well as all of the items that we have to loan. And 99 percent of the time we can get items that you want that are not in the Upper Hudson Library System.
This building built between 1922, when the cornerstone was laid, and 1923 when the library opened its doors is a jewel in the community of Hoosick Falls. So please take advantage of all we have to offer. The library is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 1 to 8 pm; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Cheney Library to all of you!
Director Cheney Library
