Manchester architecture firm receives accolades
Nationally, Houzz.com has awarded the local firm the title of "Best of Houzz for Service in 2017." Houzz is the leading platform for home remodeling and design and the website boasts more than 40 million monthly unique users. This honor was presented to Sustainable Design for their excellence in customer service and is based on several factors, including the number and quality of client reviews received.
Regionally, Alan Benoit, principal architect of Sustainable Design was selected to be a Vermont representative at the American Institute of Architect's Committee on the Environment Leadership Summit (COTE), an invitation-only event held in Burlington this year. The AIA's 2030 Challenge calls for all new buildings and major renovations to be carbon-neutral by the year 2030. The summit invited leaders from each state to collaborate and discuss the biggest obstacles of this initiative for the AIA.
Locally, Alan and his wife Nancy, chief designer at Sustainable Design are featured in this month's issue of Vermont Magazine. Inside the September/October issue, you will find seven pages of photographs and writing that highlight the couple's 16 years of domestic creativity. The story provides an intimate peek inside their home, gardens, studio and barn, and reveals how the spaces have been resourcefully repurposed over time to best suit their needs.
"It is an honor to be recognized not only on a local and regional level, but also nationally this year" said Benoit. "It will be difficult to surpass our achievements in 2017, but we will certainly continue to strive to do so."
