Police: Train hit truck at crossing in Vermont; no injuries

ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) — Police say no one was injured when a train hit a truck at a crossing in Essex Junction.

It happened at the Maple Street Crossing around 3:45 p.m. Thursday. Police tell WCAX-TV the traffic in front of the driver prevented him from moving his truck off the tracks. He then tried to avoid the train by pushing the car in front of him to get off the tracks, but was unsuccessful.

No one was hurt. Traffic was delayed for about an hour.

The Burlington Free Press reports that the accident was the third involving cars and trains in the past two days.
