Purple Gang to open at Spaulding

BRATTLEBORO — The defending Division 2 champion Bellows Falls varsity football team will debut at Spaulding on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.

The Terriers upset top-seeded Burr and Burton, 20-14, in last season's title game. Jahyde Bullard ran for 155 yards and a touchdown, while Logan Cota scored on a keeper and Jacob Streeter returned the opening kickoff 88 yards to the house to lead Bellows Falls, which finished up with a 10-1 mark.

A late interception by Brendan Kendall was the defensive highlight for the winners, who held star quarterback Griff Stalcup to 15 completions for 194 yards in the finale.

The rematch is set for Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. on Hadley Field.
