Roadwork for the week of May 14

BENNINGTON — A number of road projects will be under way this week, potentially leading to delays, or requiring motorists to seek alternate routes.

Main Street will be undergoing preparation for Mayfest later in the month. Workers and equipment will be on the edge of the roadway. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays.

In addition, the extension of water lines in areas of town affected by PFOA contamination continues. The following work is planned:

Austin Hill Road will continue to be closed to through traffic from Murphy Road to Bard Road. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to find another route.

Bard Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic through May 18th. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to use caution and to expect delays.Gypsy Lane will continue to be closed to through traffic from Route 9/West Road to Walloomsac Road. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to find another route.

Matteson Road will continue to be closed to through traffic from Rice Lane to Harlan Road. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to find another route.

Murphy Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic from Austin Hill to Papermill Bridge through May 18th. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays.

Red Pine Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays.

Silk Road will continue to be closed to through traffic through May 25th, 2018. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to find another route.

Walloomsac Road will continue to be closed to through traffic between Dermody Road and Fairview Street through May 18. Local traffic, including buses, will be accommodated. Motorists are asked to find another route. William H. Morse Airport may be accessed by way of Dermody Road.
