Volunteer effort to improve Arlington launched
A public meeting is scheduled for noon on Friday, Sept. 22, at the Mack Performing Arts Center at Arlington Memorial High School, when Baker will announce details of the initiative.
He is expected to discuss the creation of six committees to address the future of the Arlington School District; town government; the town's economy, including its artistic history and tourism; the town's appearance; the Recreation Park, and public safety, including fire, police and rescue services.
According to a press release, "The goal is to reverse apathy and engage community volunteerism, bringing back the shine to Arlington."
Elected town and school district leaders, as well as local state representatives and business leaders, have been invited to attend the kickoff announcement.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
