"Wreaths Across America" comes to Bennington

Posted
BENNINGTON — Local "Wreaths Across America" supporters Dwain and Beth Wilwol of The Gift Garden on Main Street in Bennington will be participating again this year.

"Wreaths Across America" is a national event conducted every December to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and their families, and teach our children the value of freedom. This year's event will take place on December 16th, 2017. Each wreath is adorned with a red velvet bow and a tag stating, "Today, I placed a wreath on the grave of an American hero." The goal is to place these wreaths on every veteran's grave across America.

In 2016, The Gift Garden took 101 wreaths to Saratoga National Cemetery, where Dwain's father is buried. This year the Wilwols hope to reach or exceed last years goal and have wreaths placed here in Bennington, at the Vermont Veterans Home and Saratoga National Cemetery.

If you would like to sponsor a wreath, please call The Gift Garden at 802-447-7222.
